How the program began and evolved: Fishing Rodeo Committee of IFMA New Orleans coordinates an Annual Fundraiser to provide financial support and assist in harmonizing the costs of maintaining the Chapter.  The Annual Fishing Rodeo helps provide a 2-way marketing opportunity with in the professional community.  Through this annual fundraiser we are able to keep our members costs down while at the same time provide an enjoyable and fun weekend of fishing. 

For many years the Annual Fishing Rodeo proceeds have help with the cost associated with the many events throughout the year.  Fundraiser proceeds were generated from individual and corporate sponsor sales, vendor participation and ticket sales.  Some of the drawbacks of Annual Fishing Rodeo fundraiser are the preparation time it takes to plan and coordinate the fundraiser, dependency on individual and corporate sponsorship and ticket sales and most importantly, the chapter receives the proceeds after the costs associated with the fishing rodeo.    

To better serve the community Fishing Rodeo Committee reevaluated the structure of their Annual Fundraiser and after many hours of meetings and event proposals, the Committee’s focus ultimately centered on its original mission: To bring together members of IFMA New Orleans Chapter, its associate members, the public and local businesses in a campaign to support the IFMA New Orleans Chapter.

To that end the Fishing Rodeo Committee has decided to begin the Fishing Rodeo's marketing and contribution requests to our members, associates, corporate sponsors and local businesses beginning in June, thereby foregoing the delay in support both with the committee's involvement, sponsorship for the actual event and securing the best arrangements for the event.  The Fishing Rodeo's marketing, sponsorship and event planning will be handle through the on-line processing of events management which will allow the Chapter to not only market the event but receive and process sponsorships through our on-line Event Planning Website. 

The Annual Fundraisers new format will proved to be very successful, therefore the Fishing Rodeo Committee is committed to not only provide the best possible Annual Fishing Rodeo but to ensure that all aspects of the Chapter's annual fundraiser will be a fun and successful fundraiser for the Chapter.
