The New Orleans Chapter of IFMA is approximately 55 members strong, including 5 Certified Facility Managers (CFM) and 2 FMP.
Our chapter was chartered on December 8, 1987, and we celebrated our 20th anniversary during IFMA’s World Workplace conference, held October 24-26, 2007 in New Orleans!
Geographically our chapter serves the metropolitan New Orleans area (Orleans Parish), surrounding suburbs to the west and south (Jefferson Parish, St. Bernard & Plaquemines Parish), and areas north and east of Lake Pontchartrain (St. Tammany Parish).
Remaining true to the southern Louisiana lifestyle of blending outdoor activities with the enjoyment of good food, the New Orleans Chapter of IFMA is the only chapter within the Association which hosts an annual Fishing Rodeo as our chapter fundraiser, instead of the usual golf tournament that other chapters organize.
Typically, our chapter holds its monthly luncheon meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, with a few exceptions.
Our Programs Committee works diligently throughout the year to plan a variety of guest speakers and interesting facility tours, all designed to promote the facility management profession and enhance our members’ roles as managers and business leaders.
Please browse our “Upcoming Events” page for more details, meeting dates, and locations.
As a chapter, we strive to maintain an emphasis on the networking needs and daily challenges of the professional facility manager, while still recognizing the importance of our local service providers and embracing their roles as a collective asset to our chapter.
Our Professional members represent a wide variety of business sectors and organizations in facilities management, such as utility/oil/gas companies, commercial banks, law firms, public & non-profit facilities, government & military entities, university & education institutions, architectural & design firms, and commercial real estate groups.
Our Associate members represent many providers of facility management products and services, such as building materials, interior finishes and furnishings, cleaning and maintenance services, professional movers, contract furniture dealers, and specialty consultants. There are many, many exciting things on the horizon for the New Orleans Chapter of IFMA, so to become a part of it,please visit our Membership page to learn how to join us!
